Also referred to as DOT Type 1, for the Department of Transport, MOT Type 1 remains the UK’s most utilised sub-base material. It’s commonly applied to domestic driveways and patios, as well as infrastructures like roads and car parks.

Quarried from the earth, it’s then crushed down to at least 40mm to create a multipurpose aggregate that compacts easily.
